Dr. Michael Laflamme appointed as Lead of the LMP Research Committee

Following a competitive search, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Laflamme has been appointed as the Lead of the LMP Research Committee.

Michael received Doctor of Medicine and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Emory University, GA, U.S.A, in 1999 and 1998, respectively. Michael completed his residency in anatomic pathology and fellowship in cardiovascular pathology from the University of Washington, WA, USA. Subsequently he took a position as anatomic pathologist and assistant professor at the University of Washington Medical Center and University of Washington.

Michael joined UHN in 2015 as a staff anatomic pathologist (cardiovascular pathology) and associate professor, Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, at the University of Toronto with a cross appointment at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering. He is the Robert R. McEwen Chair in Cardiac Regenerative Medicine at UHN and recently also Canada Research Chair in Cardiovascular Regenerative Medicine at the University of Toronto.

Michael has won numerous distinctions and awards.
