Congratulations to Wes Morrison on being awarded a 2019-20 CAP Innovation Fellowship!
Together with the Genome Diagnostics team and lab management, Wes has come up with an innovative project to improve the overall safety for patients undergoing genetic testing at UHN. The project’s goal is to reduce patient risk and improve laboratory efficiency by expanding use of the electronic genetic Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to include automated analysis workflows and data integration between equipment.
The proposed LIMS project fits with the LMP strategic priority to “Deliver a superior patient experience through a culture of quality, innovation and compassion” as it aims to improve every patient’s experience by utilizing innovation to undertake a project that electronically redefines the collection, management and utilization of electronic data in the laboratory.
