The Core Laboratory Redevelopment Project – Phase 1, kicks off this Saturday with the removal and replacement of two immunoassay chemistry analysers, making way for the lab’s new high performing equipment.
The entire Core Lab team has come together to enable the project and coordinate the redistribution of tests while transitioning equipment.
The installation of the new Abbott Alinity analysers will provide LMP more reliable operation and higher specimen throughput. Additionally, the installation puts us in elite company as one of the first sites in Canada to implement the state-of-the-art analysers for clinical use.

Validation of the new equipment will continue to take place over the next several months, during which, one of the existing analysers will continue to operate in a new location within the lab.
A big shout-out to the entire Core Laboratory and Specimen Management team for facilitating this installation, and working to maintain our current levels of testing throughout the duration of the Core Laboratory Redevelopment project!
